Public Bus to Miraflores

For those not arriving in time to use the conference coaches, there is a good bus connection between Plaza Castilla and Miraflores village. The bus runs at the following times during weekdays (and takes approx. 1 hour):

To get to Plaza Castilla from the airport:

1. From the airport take the Metro towards Nuevos Ministerios, but get out at COLUMBIA.

2. There, switch to Line 9 towards HERRERA ORIA, and get out after 3 stops, at Plaza Castilla.

3. Go upstairs, and look for the bus stands (several rows of them, some stairs take you out at one end, the others you will need to cross a street).

4. Go to bus stand 5 for the 725 to Miraflores - Bustarviejo - Valdemanco.
Or 726 (Madrid-Pza Castilla to Miraflores de la Sierra, Navalfuente).
Buy a ticket on the bus (not sure how much, a few Euros, they may not break a 20 Euro note or higher.) The trip to Miraflores will take approx. 1 hour.

5. Get out at the village center, and either organisers for our shuttle to pick you up (number to be provided), or use the local taxi: 91 844 5469

The Residence-Hall La Cristalera is in Km. 2 of the road from Miraflores de la Sierra to Rascafría. Maybe 30 minutes walk without bags. In the heat of the day, difficult.
